Abstract

This research aims to develop an Internet of Things-based employee attendance system using RFID and NodeMCU technology in CV Mulia Abadi Jepara. The system is designed to replace the presence of conventional or manual methods. In this study, the attendance reader machine was designed using a NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller and an MFRC-522 RFID module for RFID card reading. This system is also equipped with a PHP and MySQL-based website to monitor and recapitulate attendance data automatically. The waterfall method is used in the development of this system which consists of five stages, namely requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. System testing is carried out with two types of tests, namely blackbox testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). The test results show that the RFID presence system using a 13.56MHz RFID card can function well with an average card reading distance of 4 cm and a user satisfaction rate of 89%. With this implementation, the employee attendance system can increase efficiency in managing attendance recapitulation data that is practical and accurate for the company.
