Archiving Policy
Journal CERITA (Creative Education of Research in Information Technology and Artificial Informatics) recognizes the immense importance of long-term preservation for digital scholarly open-access publications. To ensure that all published articles remain permanently accessible, secure, and readable for future generations of researchers, the journal utilizes comprehensive digital archiving strategies.
Journal CERITA implements the following archiving and preservation pathways:
1. OJS National and International Preservation Systems
Through its deployment on the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, Journal CERITA actively participates in global digital preservation networks:
- LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): Journal CERITA utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries. This system permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.
- CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): The journal also enables a CLOCKSS system to ensure a secure and permanent dark archive for the journal's content, guaranteeing the absolute long-term survival of all scientific records.
2. Electronic Filing and Statutory Legal Deposit
In strict compliance with national regulations regarding digital asset preservation (Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 13/2018 concerning the Deposit of Printed and Recorded Works), Journal CERITA enforces a routine electronic filing process:
- National Legal Deposit (E-Deposit Perpustakaan Nasional RI): Every published issue and its corresponding full-text articles are officially and legally filed into the digital deposit system managed by the National Library of Indonesia (Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia) to guarantee its national permanent legal preservation.
- Digital Object Identifier (DOI) Registry: All individual electronic files and metadata are permanently registered and deposited into the Crossref metadata database, securing immutable active routing via Crossref DOIs.
3. National Repository Indexing (Garuda & Perpustakaan Nasional)
As part of our commitment to national digital preservation standards in Indonesia, all published volumes of Journal CERITA are regularly and automatically deposited into:
- Garuda (Garba Rujukan Digital): The digital repository managed by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia.
- Indonesia OneSearch (Perpustakaan Nasional RI): All article metadata and full-text links are harvested by the National Library of Indonesia to ensure full national availability and digital tracking.
4. Self-Archiving Policy (Green Open Access)
Journal CERITA fully supports the Green Open Access model, allowing authors to self-archive their work to maximize visibility and longevity.
- Repository Deposit: Authors are explicitly permitted and encouraged to deposit the final published PDF version (Publisher's Version/Version of Record) into their institutional repositories, subject-based repositories, or personal websites (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu).
- Link Requirement: When self-archiving, authors must provide a clear bibliographic citation and include the active Crossref DOI link to the original article page on the Journal CERITA website.
5. Local Server Backup Policy
The publisher, Universitas Raharja, maintains a strict local data protection routine. The complete OJS database, including full-text PDF galleys, XML metadata, and review histories of Journal CERITA, is backed up automatically on a regular schedule onto secure, redundant cloud servers to prevent any potential data loss due to technical failures.
