Abstract

Children with special needs (CSN) require extra attention regarding motor skills to enhance their independence and quality of life. This research developed an interactive educational game prototype aimed at increasing learning interest and motor skills in CSN, with a case study conducted at SLB BC Cahaya Pertiwi. The method employed is the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC), a framework ensuring structured multimedia application development. The game utilizes a drag and drop mechanism involving animal images, specifically designed to improve fine motor skills. Test results involving ten CSN actors (with intellectual disabilities/Tunagrahita) demonstrate the game's effectiveness. There was an average increase in motor skill scores of 33.23% and an increase in remaining time of 18.52% after seven days of use. This game successfully serves as an optimal, engaging, and adaptive innovative learning method, supporting the motor development and learning interest of CSN.
